Cameras for Surveillance and Security Systems
When developing a good security and surveillance system for your business, to be used to record an act of committing a crime, it is critical to use the highest quality cameras to be assured that the system will record the best possible image. A high-quality image greatly increases the probability that the criminal can be identified positively. Low-resolution images will record the major aspects of the crime, such as use of a weapon, but often fall short of producing useful personal identification of the criminal. Older video-cassette-based surveillance systems did not produce very good images due to the limitations of the technology of videocassettes. Today, the latest and best recording systems use digital image recording on hard disks to store the data, and consequently produce extremely good images that are often limited by the image quality delivered by the cameras used.
One of the shapes and forms of cameras that are typically used is the Dome Camera. These cameras have an excellent high-resolution lens. Dome cameras actually look like camera, and that can act to prevent a crime when the potential criminal is aware that their movements are being recorded. Any less careful, or impulsive criminal will be the star in their own video production, caught clearly committing their act. In addition, many cameras work in almost no ambient light or are sensitive to infrared, which can illuminate the area from infrared sources, often part of the camera itself. This type of camera is ideal where the cost of lighting an area overnight needs to be lower. These cameras are made by a number of manufacturers, including excellent models by Sony. Check out the Dome Camera list to see the many types available for ordering. There are a wide range of prices so you may want to research the manufacturer’s data sheets for each model to further determine the capabilities and what best fits your requirements.
