Nowadays, almost all families have at least one computer at their homes. This trend is greatly influenced by the fact that computer can help accomplishing various office and school tasks. Computers will also become a perfect resource of information and entertainment if we connect them to internet. There are many websites that offer online information and entertainment which can be accessed easily and conveniently. In fact, these online activities have motivated more and more people to buy computers. Since our activities on our computers can cause computer problems, we certainly need to protect our computers. Meaning to say, we must install powerful software that can scan problems, delete malicious files, and protect computers.

However, because there are many kinds of software on the market, choosing the most powerful one can be a daunting yet an overwhelming task. Fortunately, there are two clear characteristics of good computer software that can become our references. The first characteristic is that the software created by reputable company. As we know, XoftSpySE download that has become popular anti spyware software is created by a company that has granted certified partner status by Microsoft. The certification simply shows that the company has successfully created high quality software. The second characteristic is that the software is powerful but easy to use. As in our attempt to fix registry problems, we should be able to find software that can clean registry powerfully and instantly. The software should be simple and easy to use so we will not have problem to use it.

Furthermore, if we want to use free software, we should make sure that the software is free from virus and other malicious files. We can use expert reviews and customer testimonials as our references in finding the best free software. Therefore, we had better do a research to find out powerful software that can help protecting our computers.

Nvidia, the #1 graphics chip maker in the computer industry, has finally decided to enter the netbook race. They have recently announced their newest platform, the ION. While it is not a revolutionary new chip (it has in fact been around a while), it’s pairing with the Intel Atom processor is what really makes it important to netbook owners and addicts.

About Ion

Ion is a combination of the current Intel Atom processors, used in most netbooks, with Nvidias 9400M mobile GPU. The 9400M is currently used in many budget laptops and is also the GPU you will find in Apple’s Macbook Pro line. The new chips will offer up 5x faster graphics as well as up to 10x faster video transcoding.

So what does this mean to you?

The Ion will allow you to run video much, much faster. For those of you that have a first generation netbook (like my HP mini), you have probably noticed that the video can cause serious hiccups. With the 9400M, you can now run HD Video in full 1080p and Nvidia even went as far as to say that the platform will be capable of Blu-Ray playback. Not only that, but Nvidia has been quoted as saying that the new platform can run Call of Duty 4 with 25-30 fps consistently. That is quite a feat considering my current netbook can barely run the simple games on Yahoo. What that also means is that this new line of netbooks should also be able to run World of Warcraft on decent quality settings. I must be honest when I tell you that this has me VERY excited.

Are there any downsides?

The only documented downside at this point has been power consumption. The new mock systems that have been tested have been exhibiting double the power consumption of previous netbooks and would cut your battery time down to about 4-5 hours for most systems. Nvidia has stated however that the Ion based netbooks will have special power saving techniques to extend the battery life, so no accurate measurement can be made until the first systems start showing up.

So when will they be out and what new models have been announced?

So far, the only time line given has been mid 2009, but we should start seeing a major crop of big name netbooks using the Ion platform soon. The leaders out of the gate will be the Lenovo S12, a new Acer, and more than likely a new Asus laptop as well, to complement their new thinner line of netbooks. I would suspect that all of the major players in the netbook race will have Ion based systems available by Christmas.

In Conclusion

The new Ion platform by Nvidia and Intel is going to be a huge step for netbooks. 5x the graphic power, 10x the video speeds, Call of Duty, World of Warcraft, and 1080p all sounds great. If you already have first generation netbook, this Christmas looks like it may be a good time to upgrade.

The netbook is actually being noticed by diehard laptop devotees. Most devoted laptop lovers might have thought – `This is it. This is the one for me`. Slowly but surely, they are being lured into the smaller and lighter realm of the netbook. For students, this can mean the difference between lugging their laptop around all day, when maybe they only have one or two classes. Or when they grab lunch, maybe they want to drop the heavy laptop off at the dorm room for when they come back to download the day`s notes. Sitting at a desk gets old after sitting behind one for several hours a day; even if there is a nice home/dorm office desk setup aside from being in classrooms. Maybe the student wants to prop up in bed and type some quick ideas or update the week`s schedule – enter the netbook. Following are the small details that make the netbook so appealing for quick tasks, updates or even as a general notebook for random thoughts or shopping lists. The netbook tends to have a 7-10 inch screen. However some manufacturers have produced a couple of models with 11-12 inch screens, which might be categorized by most as a laptop. Usually they are built to weigh a mere 2-3 pounds. This attribute alone is a big selling point for the times someone needs a computer, yet there will be no access to a desktop where one is going, therefore the point of carrying a USB stick would be moot. Now the USB can be brought along to the next destination, with the netbook not weighing much more. Linux and Windows XP are the standard operating systems for netbooks. Some have Vista installed, but the netbook`s smaller memory capacity usually does not support Vista well. Most memory on the devices is 512 MB to 1 GB (giga byte). They do have a capacity for as much as 2 GB. Most netbooks come with many standard specs that a laptop does – webcam, microphone, USB 2.0, a port for headphones and another microphone and etc. The netbook is designed to be very easy on battery life, unlike most laptops. Hence another example of the appeal of the netbook`s portability; however, this also translates to smaller processing systems, making it ideal for small daily tasks for students, business people, writers, or the busy mom typing out the grocery list. The laptop at home will be utilized later for the more heavily processing tasks. Many netbooks can be attained for US $300-500. Some do go as high as $700-800. For those who can justify the cost of the netbook as a compatible backup and new family addition to their laptop, it is a viable option. There are also many people who would benefit from saving or just weighing the pros to make a notebook the latest addition to their technology brood – students, writers, high schoolers who need extra, more convenient study time, doctors and nurses who need extra time to type up and organize notes, etc. Welcome to another technological breakthrough, just when it seemed there could never be any more additions: enter the world of the netbook, a fabulous adjunct to the notebook, and their grandfather, the good old desktop.

The size of computers keeps coming down every year. From massive mainframes that occupied whole warehouses, we now have computers tiny enough to fit in the palm of our hands, while still providing exceptional power.

The latest trend in computers has been the growing popularity of netbooks. These are lightweight notebooks that are built specifically for surfing the internet. Since most of us spend 90% of our time on the internet, using web apps like Facebook or Gmail instead of software that runs on the computer itself, netbooks become a very cost-effective solution to fulfilling the requirements of the computer user of today.

Netbooks tend to be somewhat underpowered when compared with notebooks. On the other hand, because of this, they also happen to be a whole lot cheaper than comparable notebooks. Therefore, if power is not a concern to you, a netbook would be a very viable choice.

The Intel Atom CPU was designed specifically for netbooks. Its small size, compact design, and low power consumption makes it ideal for use inside these scaled down laptops. But don’t let the “small” or “atom” tag fool you; the atom cpu can provide enough juice to run your machine at a healthy speed without draining your batteries.

When it comes to picking a netbook, choose one that has a smaller screen than that of a regular laptop. The ideal screen size would vary from person to person, but a 9″ to 12″ screen would be ideal. Some would say that 9″ is just too small for comfortable use, while others might love the compactness that the small screen offers. So choose one that you are comfortable with. Use it at the store for a few minutes, try writing out an email, opening a few apps, etc. on it to see if your eyes can adjust to the small screen size.

Among other things, the Intel Atom CPU is great at reducing power consumption. The processor is one of the most power draining components of a computer, and a processor like the Atom CPU helps reduce this usage. This helps manufacturers to use a lighter, smaller battery, which eventually means a lighter netbook for you. You shouldn’t buy any netbook if it weighs over 2kg. Doing so would go against the very idea of a netbook.

When it comes to price, netbooks tend to blow the competition out of the water. Because of the smaller size, cheaper components with lower power, netbooks can be a whole lot cheaper than regular notebooks. The processor most used in netbooks is the Atom CPU, and it is a whole lot cheaper than more powerful processors such as the Core 2 Duo, helping bring down the price of the entire machine down.

The most important thing before you purchase a netbook is to do your research properly. Take the time to use the machine at your local computer store (request a demo if they don’t have one) and get something that fulfils your needs while still leaving room for a little bit extra.

An Acer Netbook is a laptop computer that’s especially designed to be portable and easy to use. The Acer Group creates the brands Acer, eMachines, Packard Bell and Gateway, and is the 3rd largest PC company, as well as the second largest for notebook computers, including their netbooks.
Acer started with the Acer Aspire One, its first netbook designed to compete on a market that began with Asus Eee PC computers. These original mini-laptops took the market by storm, and the Acer Aspire One was Acer’s answer to the growing demand for small, lightweight laptops that were portable and had better battery life than standard laptops.
An Acer Netbook is now offered in one of 3 screen sizes, instead of the original 8.9″ screen. Now you can opt for a slightly larger 10.1″ or an 11.6″ screen for a larger viewing area. The earliest netbooks were often criticized for their screen size, even though the entire computers were so compact. An 11.6″ screen helps give a more full-size feeling to the screen, while maintaining the compact size and easy portability netbooks are known for. You can choose a 1024 x 600 resolution WSVGA resolution screen, or opt for a HD WXGA 1366 x 768 resolution with an LED-backlit display.
An Acer Netbook weighs less than 3 pounds. If you’ve ever carried around a full-size laptop that wasn’t a very inexpensive featherweight model, then you can appreciate the idea of a laptop that weighs less than 3 pounds! You also have a choice in battery size, which will of course affect battery life. Models with a 3-cell battery cost less, but the 6-cell battery increases the run time dramatically.
Each Acer Netbook contains some type of Atom processor, a top processor from Intel that was made for small devices. Because of netbooks’ portability, people want to be able to use them at length on the go, and there’s not always a way to plug them in every couple of hours. The Atom processor helps the battery last much longer, because it uses much less power than other types of processors. Intel’s popular Core 2 Duo processor uses almost 10 times more power than an Atom processor, making the Atom ideal for netbooks.
You can choose a less expensive Acer Netbook, or opt to pay a little more, by choosing different operating systems, hard drives and memory. Windows operating systems installed cost a little more than a Linux operating system, for instance. And you can choose hard drives ranging from about 80 Gig to 250 Gig, with larger storage commanding a higher price. Choose between 1GB and 2GB of memory–keeping in mind that more memory is always better, as it speeds operation.
You can choose from a variety of colors to suit your taste, and then enjoy using your Acer Netbook on the go, with its built-in Wi-Fi, web browsing, webcam and things like media player and picture viewers. These compact laptops let you compute on the go without lugging around a heavy laptop or paying thousands of dollars for a light model.

am now going to buy Lenovo Ideapad S10-2 Netbook Laptop. But, I am not able to decide which operating system will help me to improve my working on it. So, will you please help me to get the best operating system from which I can get more and more faster response as well as simpler use of the operating sytem. So, just suggest me some options and their use, so I can get one of it, which is the best one.

Re: Best Winodws Operating System For NetBookHi, I think to get the best windows operating system you would need to give the configuration of your NetBook. So, that one will able to get to know which windows will give you better performance. As you wanted to get the faster response from thenetbook you need to get the operating system which will suit your notebook configuration. So, I will suggest you to give first the configuration of yournetbook.

Re: Best Winodws Operating System For NetBookI think you need to install the Windows 7 on your new Netbook. As it is the newest version of the windows operating system, it is having some or the other new features as follows: * Accessibility * Action Center * Backup and Restore * BitLocker * HomeGroup * Internet TV * Jump Lists * Language packs * Libraries * Power management * ReadyBoost * Remote Desktop Connection * Remote Media Streaming * Startup Repair * Sticky Notes * Windows Live Essentials * Windows Search * Windows Taskbar * Domain JoinRe: Best Winodws Operating System For NetBookHi, I am still using windows Xp operating system and I think that this is the better operating system of the Windows though after that Windows has launched Windows 7 and Windows Vista. It gives you user friendly environment that any other operating system. It is simple to use and provides more faster response than any other operating system. So, I think that this is more helpful operating system if you want faster response from the windows. So, just make use of the Windows xp which I think that better one.Re: Best Winodws Operating System For NetBookHello, If you ask me personally, I don’t think that windows is the best choice for netbook. If you like to change from windows then I would suggest you to get linux. This is because it uses very little RAM and hard drive space and protects you from viruses by its own. If you are using anywindows operating system then you will get usually attacked by the viruses and I don’t think that the antivirus programs would help you to achieve this. As I have this experience, I would suggest you to not use windows use other operating system such as linux.Re: Best Winodws Operating System For NetBookHi, I am also searching for the same. I am also buying the new netbook for my home use and thinking that which operating system will be suitable for this. As if you buy the netbook with the Windows 7 and then if you want to update it, it will cost you more. So, it is better to first time make sure which operating system will you like to use. That is why I am asking you which is the better operating system from windows. I have used only Windows xp till yet, so I don’t know working of Windows vista and Windows 7. So, help me to get better operating system.Re: Best Winodws Operating System For NetBookHi Henryosa, I had seen the technical specifications of the Lenovo Ideapad S10-2 on its official site. It’s powered by Intel Atom N280 processor and 1GB ram. I would recommend you to go with Windows XP Home or PRO. Won’t recommend Windows 7 because it’s over the limit of thisnetbook could handle.
