Cheap Acer Aspire One Netbook

Netbooks, small and easy to fill a gap somewhere in the computers and laptops, smart phones can capture the growing market share because of its compact size and light weight. When a friend asked me to help create an Acer Aspire One, he did what it could do.While it did not immediately make me want to list my laptop on eBay, I can see some benefits for travelers.Practical Travel Gear editor Tim Leffe recently decided not to give up his beloved laptop, or in this review. I wanted to dig a little deeper into the netbook phenomenon, and points out some strengths and weaknesses.First of all, I really like the size of Acer D150, a 10.1-inch display and a lightweight at just under three pounds for the largest battery. The size is perfect for working on an airplane, even scrunched up coach. American and other airlines rolling out in-flight Wi-Fi, which is even easier to keep in touch and stay entertained in the air.The D150 is well thought-out, a colorful case. It runs a well-known operating system, Windows XP.The screen is bright and fair resolution of 1024 x 600 at. I would prefer a higher resolution for a notebook, but Acer’s screen is not bad. Enable ClearType makes the text more readable. It was not enabled by default. The company claims a 6.5-hour battery life, which looks about right given the time I for him. This netbook has a 160 GB hard drive. The D150 is powered by 1 GB of RAM and an Intel Atom N270 processor. A little slow, as more laptops are more powerful processors, but not bad for web browsing, e-mail, word processing and games are not graphics-intensive. Just do not try editing, or anything in this line.It also includes a built-in microphone and webcam. The list price of $ 329.99, which is very close to the lower-cost notebooks. These are good points. But there are some drawbacks. What is the D150 and other netbooks lack of a CD or DVD drive. , Which makes it difficult to install new programs or watch a DVD movie. If you have an external USB drive for loading programs occasionally, but this increases costs. And what kind of defeats the purpose a little netbook to use an external drive to watch a movie on DVD.Netbooks may geared wired or wireless, high-speed connection. If you’re still stuck somewhere without a broadband internet connection, you’ll need an external USB modem dial-up.The keyboard is a bit crowded. The 10.1 ‘screen appears, just a tad serious web browsing on small screen resolution. It is still used, but not ideal. For some inexplicable reason, during installation, Internet Explorer crashed. We’ll probably never know why, but it’s a little depressing. After going through the installation, IE ran fine. The Acer Aspire One A150 may be ideal for some travelers. But I’m still partial to my Dell XPS M1210 its a faster processor, larger screen, better graphics and built-in drive.Maybe one day will make a netbook that I was traveling. But not today.
